“Le vie del Compasso d’Oro”. Poltrona Frau takes part with DU30 and Titano
A path that winds throughout the city of Milan to illustrate the impact of design on daily life through the winning projects selected during the sixty years of “Compasso d'Oro ADI” Award.
The two Poltrona Frau’s projects, which received the prestigious Award, will be exhibited at the showroom of Via Manzoni, 30 during the entire “XXI Triennale” event.
DU30 chair designed by Gastone Rinaldi in 1953 was the recipient, in 1954, of the Compasso d'Oro-Rinascente Award in its first edition.
The jury included, among others, Gio Ponti, Marco Zanuso and Alberto Rosselli.
DU30 is still considered one of the most famous Gastone Rinaldi’s design.
The other product which won the Compasso d'Oro Award in 2001 is Titano table, designed by Pierluigi Cerri in 2000. The project was recognized for the innovative use of titanium, which enables to create the particular surface pattern, and honeycomb for the internal structure, which lends great lightness to the product.
Titanio belongs to the permanent collection of Poltrona Frau Museum in Tolentino.
