In the heart of an industrial area on the outskirts of Forlì, in an urban context lacking architectural identity, stands Sidera, the new headquarters of CIA Conad. This visionary project, designed by tissellistudioarchitetti, redefines the aesthetics and functionality of the contemporary workplace. Its design approach, guided by concrete functional needs and the principles of neuro-architecture, has given life to a dynamic and identity-driven architectural organism.

The complex extends 100 meters in length and 33 meters in height, with a façade composed of natural aluminum, black pigmented concrete, and large glass surfaces that reflect the surrounding landscape and light in ever-changing ways. The envelope and the roof are conceived as a unified whole, where the pitched roof geometry dialogues with the Apennine skyline, offering an architectural reading even from above.

Within this cutting-edge structure, Poltrona Frau plays a key role in shaping the assembly hall—a space designed to combine functionality, well-being, and corporate identity. The hall features 200 BCN chairs, designed by Herzog & de Meuron and crafted by Poltrona Frau, specifically selected to enhance both the acoustic performance and visual appeal of the space.

The inclusion of BCN seating in such a high-profile project underscores Poltrona Frau’s commitment to creating bespoke solutions that merge design, comfort, and technology. The essential lines, premium materials, and artisanal detailing reflect the project’s rigorous and innovative architectural approach.

The design quality and innovation behind Sidera have earned global recognition. The project was awarded the Architecture MasterPrize™ in the Commercial Architecture category—one of the world’s most prestigious awards celebrating excellence in architecture and design. Additionally, it secured third place in the “World Building of the Year 2024” competition organized by World-Architects.com | PSA Publishers Ltd., standing out among 40 international finalist projects.
