Both born in 1982, Simone Spalvieri and Valentina Del Ciotto met in 2003. Graduates in Industrial and Interior Design respectively from Milan Polytechnic, they immediately became a couple both in life and work. Spalvieri & Del Ciotto design studio is a meeting place that brings together ideas, research and experimentation.
Their work, characterised by formal and functional purity, is based on the idea that every design product must be a value to pass onto the future generations, containing and celebrating a piece of our history and our culture. They seek, through design, to humanise new materials and new technologies with the goal of helping us to understand and use the most innovative objects more easily. They collaborate with some of the most interesting Italian and international design companies: Poltrona Frau, Magis, Established&Sons, Lexon, Fratelli Guzzini, Arena Waterinstinct, Mamoli and Colombo Design. In 2013 they were the winners of the “Top Young Italian Industrial Designers Prize” and were rewarded by Massimo Vignelli with the Slow Design Exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute of New York. They have won international prizes like the Red Dot Award, the China Good Design and the German Design Award.
