Poltrona Frau Contract furnishes 1000 square metres of the new Casa Alitalia departure lounge at Rome Fiumicino Terminal E. A project by Studio Marco Piva.

The Contract Division of Poltrona Frau has provided bespoke furnishings and collection furniture for the new Alitalia Lounge at Rome Fiumicino, in a project by architects Marco Piva and Armando Bruno.

The concept reinterprets traditional Italian hospitality through a design project focused on attention to detail, carefully selected materials and ergonomics. Casa Alitalia offers a homely environment where guests can relax while waiting for a flight and, at the same time, is an elegant space featuring elements of Italian design which offer the world a true expression of the country's values and excellence. The space covers an area of over 1000 square metres and presents a new concept of hospitality with a focus on sophistication and “Made in Italy” quality.

The interior design project is a concrete expression of Alitalia's desire to create a sophisticated and welcoming space to accommodate its guests and make them feel at home. This is a basic need for any frequent long-haul flyer and Alitalia, with its constant awareness of passenger needs, seeks to enhance their travelling experience with its elegant lounges that transform the wait into a precious opportunity for relaxation.

Poltrona Frau has supplied Excelsa armchairs and sofas, designed by architects Marco Piva and Armando Bruno, Fiorile small tables and Montera chairs and stools, by Poltrona Frau residential collection as well as special panelling in Pelle Frau® leather.
