Pelle Frau® Velvety leather is the first nubuck made by Poltrona Frau, obtained with an accurate and delicate process of sanding the grain. It is a top-quality leather, tanned without chromium and dyed with aniline, thanks to the strict selection of the raw material: about 10% of the finest leathers of European origin, with a very few imperfections.

The silky depth of the colour and the incomparable softness are achieved through a double process of sanding and barrel dyeing of the grain. The result is an intense and mellow colour and a lightly shiny surface.

It is a nubuck with a high "chalkboard effect", which creates chromatic shades when caressed. Designed for leather lovers, who know how to appreciate its authenticity and the natural patina of time and who know how to take care of it.

Pelle Frau® Velvety leather is available in ten colours, designed to match tone-on-tone with the 73 colours of Colorsphere®, creating unexpected tactile and chromatic contrasts.

Care and maintenance

• Due to its unprotected full aniline leather characteristics, Pelle Frau® Velvety Impact Less easily absorbs liquids of any kind as well as dyes from fabrics that may come into contact with it.

 

• Cleaning procedures may help limit the damage but cannot remove it completely. Remove the stain immediately by blotting it with a soft white cotton or linen cloth, slightly dampened, then dry the surface, avoiding the use of hair dryers or direct sunlight.

 

• We recommend regularly removing dust with a semi-stiff natural bristle brush and/or with a clean, dry, non-abrasive white cotton or linen cloth.

 

• For cleaning, use the Pelle Frau® Velvety Elisir di Lunga Vita kit. Generic cleaning products may cause damage. Avoid using alcohol or any other solvents that may be too harsh.

 

• Do not place the product near heat sources or in direct contact with natural light sources or direct artificial lighting, maintaining a minimum distance of 8–12 inches (20–30 cm). Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.

 

• In case of stains, use the Velvety Stain Eraser Cloth and the Powder Degreaser. The Velvety Stain Eraser Cloth is a cloth with exceptional cleaning properties designed to remove stains and embedded dirt from nubuck leather. The Powder Degreaser is a degreasing agent that removes stains caused by sebum, animal fats, oils, and food. Leave the Powder Degreaser on the surface for 6–8 hours. After this time, vacuum the treated area and then gently brush it to completely remove the powder. For more stubborn stains, it may be necessary to repeat the procedure.
