In the heart of the Swiss Alps, Fondation Opale has expanded its facilities with a new wing dedicated to art and cultural outreach. As the only art center in Europe entirely devoted to contemporary Aboriginal art, the foundation strengthens its international role through an architectural project designed by EFAR, based in Sion. Through its Custom Interiors Business Unit, Poltrona Frau contributed to the project by creating the leather seating for the new auditorium, custom-developed to ensure comfort, aesthetic quality, and functional performance.

Opened in December 2023, the new wing includes a 124-seat auditorium, complemented by 2 Pitagora armchairs dedicated to people with reduced mobility, a library, artwork conservation spaces, and a panoramic meeting room. Designed as a multifunctional venue for conferences, concerts, and artistic performances, the auditorium features advanced acoustic and technological solutions, including active raw-concrete walls and a wave-shaped wooden ceiling engineered to optimize sound absorption. Within this setting, Poltrona Frau Custom Interiors developed a seating solution capable of blending harmoniously with the architecture of the space, contributing to the overall quality of the audience experience.
