The structure of the Leplì pouf is made of birch and poplar plywood with solid beech uprights and kraft cardboard panels. The base is poplar plywood with a scratch‑resistant black painted MDF bottom. The seat padding is made of molded polyurethane foam and polyester batting. The Leplì pouf can have a cover in Pelle Frau® leather or in fabric with a decorative leather band. When the covering is leather, the decorative band is always the same color as the pouf. In the leather version, four pleats start from the central button of the seat and define the profile of the pouf. In the fabric version, the pleating is replaced by a seam.

Concept and Design

Leplì is a stool, bench and pouf. Kensaku Oshiro designs four versatile pieces with a strong identity. The designer draws on traditional Poltrona Frau processes and decorations, combining them with sartorial details borrowed from the world of fashion. Classic stitching and soft folds bring out the sinuous simplicity of the design. The voluptuous curves of the stool, in particular, are inspired by the female form and, like in a dress, a slender belt highlights her “waist”.

The Leplì ottoman by Poltrona Frau, in the 106 x 106 cm version, is a furnishing accessory that combines visual presence, softness, and great versatility of use. Designed by Kensaku Oshiro, it interprets the ottoman as an element capable of bringing an immediate sense of welcome into a space, thanks to generous forms, sinuous lines, and details that evoke the world of tailoring. It is an ideal choice for those who want to introduce an informal yet refined seat into the home, capable of completing the environment with character without feeling rigid or bulky.

Because of its size and overall design, it is particularly suitable for people who want to make the living room more flexible and convivial. In a spacious living area, the Leplì ottoman can be used as additional seating, as a central presence in a lounge composition, or as an element that softens the formality of sofas and armchairs. It is perfect for spaces where people want a freer way of being together, conversing, welcoming guests, or enjoying the living area in a less structured way. Its substantial volume helps give rhythm to the room, while its soft design tempers its presence.

It is also a very interesting choice for environments where informal comfort needs to coexist with strong decorative quality. The Leplì ottoman is not only useful: it is also an object that contributes visually to the identity of the room. The folds, the central button in the leather version, the decorative band, and the profile inspired by a tailoring gesture make it suitable for interiors where detail matters, but is expressed with restraint. In this sense, it can work very well with linear sofas, minimalist side tables, soft rugs, sculptural lamps, and warm materials such as wood, leather, and sophisticated fabrics.

The Leplì ottoman is particularly suitable for people looking for extra seating without introducing elements that feel too rigid or technical into the room. In many contemporary living rooms, there is a desire to increase functionality without altering the atmosphere. A large ottoman like this makes it possible to do so elegantly: it can accommodate guests spontaneously, provide a soft support in everyday life, or become a freer resting point, useful when the way the space is used needs to change according to the occasion.

It can also find an excellent place in primary bedrooms, walk-in closets, vanity areas, or private suites, where it adds comfort and presence without weighing down the space [3](https://shop.mohd.it/en/lepli-pouf.html). In these environments, it is ideal for those who want a furnishing accessory that can be used to place clothes on, sit on while getting ready, create a softer transitional area, or make a large room feel richer and more lived-in. Thanks to its generous design, it is particularly effective when one wants to avoid the classic accessory ottoman and instead prefers an element with greater identity.

Its versatility also makes it suitable for high-end hospitality and contract spaces, such as lounges, suites, boutique hotels, elegant waiting areas, or selected retail environments. In these settings, the Leplì ottoman can be used to create more relaxed conversation areas, introduce a note of softness into highly architectural spaces, or make a waiting area feel more welcoming. It is an ideal choice for those seeking understated luxury, perceptible in the materials and design, but far removed from any redundant effect.

The Leplì ottoman may especially appeal to people interested in interiors with soft lines, tailored details, and strong attention to materiality. The possibility of choosing it in leather or fabric further broadens its potential uses: in leather, it can reinforce a more sophisticated and structured image, while in fabric, it can emphasize a softer, more enveloping, and more domestic feeling. In both cases, it remains an object that brings a very successful balance between function and decoration into the space.

In a large living area, it can become an informal center of gravity; in an important bedroom, it can add completeness and comfort; in a sophisticated home office, it can introduce a softer and more welcoming note; and in a hospitality project, it can help create a more relaxed and memorable experience. The Leplì ottoman by Poltrona Frau is therefore an ideal choice for elegant living rooms, refined primary bedrooms, high-end suites and lounges, selected contract environments, and all those situations in which one is looking for a furnishing accessory capable of combining beauty, flexibility, and everyday comfort.
