The 1919 armchair and the Isidoro trunk-bar, two masterpieces that are now part of the 2025 Five Seasons collection, are adorned with the visual poetry of one of the most iconic decorations from the archives of the Atelier Fornasetti: “Ultime Notizie”. Colorful butterflies fluttering over newspaper clippings come to life thanks to Poltrona Frau’s masterful leather craftsmanship and pioneering leather printing techniques, which perfectly interpret Fornasetti’s trompe-l'œil artistry.

Over a century of history and timeless aesthetics. The 1919 armchair is a classic that embodies the very essence of Poltrona Frau’s craftsmanship. This year, it adopts a new narrative: the covering in Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® Impact Less leathers, printed with the Fornasetti "Ultime Notizie" decoration, transforms the iconic bergère model into a work of art.
Designed by Jean-Marie Massaud in 2007, Isidoro is an iconic piece that recalls the atmosphere of luxurious transatlantic ships and sparkling parties like those in The Great Gatsby. In its new form, the trunk-bar becomes an aesthetic statement: the “Ultime Notizie” decorative motif, printed on Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® Impact Less leather, enhances its dreamlike allure, turning it into a sophisticated and visually impactful piece of furniture.

2025 The Five Seasons

The re-editions of the 1919 armchair and the Isidoro trunk-bar are part of the new ‘The Five Seasons’ collection, inspired by the fascinating idea of the Five Seasons: a journey through the colors, shapes, and emotions of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, complemented by a “fifth season,” the more personal and intimate one that each of us experiences when we feel we have achieved inner balance.
