Dune Diwan is a modular seating system inspired by Middle Eastern Majlis, designed in collaboration with UNStudio. The collection includes several upholstered modules, which can be used individually or stacked, offering versatile configurations ranging from low, informal seating—typical of nomadic traditions—to more structured Western-style compositions.

 

The coverings are available in Pelle Frau® leather or removable fabric. The color palette is inspired by sand dunes and earthy tones, with delicate hues like dusty blue, creating a sense of understated and relaxed elegance. The compositions are always open and customizable, adapting to the needs of the moment: a space to welcome, connect, relax, or retreat into a quiet oasis of comfort.

 

The collection is completed by a series of tailor-made accessories: a central table, tray, incense burner, and vase crafted in oak, leather, and stainless steel, along with rugs in multiple sizes and colors, designed to enhance each composition. Originally conceived for interiors, Dune Diwan is already prepared for future outdoor versions.

Dune Diwan is the harmonious meeting of East and West. A seating system that contemporarily reinterprets the ancient tradition of Majlis—Arab spaces devoted to conversation—transforming them into fluid places of hospitality and sharing.

Born from the vision of Poltrona Frau and UNStudio, Dune Diwan proposes a new, free and dynamic form of conviviality, where upholstered elements naturally come together into central islands, angular shapes, or front-facing compositions, adapting to any space or desire. Asymmetrical forms, soft volumes, and refined materials shape an emotional, nomadic landscape that invites connection, relaxation, and exchange.
