Born from the collaboration between Poltrona Frau and the British designer of Ghanaian origin Ozwald Boateng, Pelle Frau® Kenté is made using a sophisticated digital printing technique to recreate on leather the graphic of the traditional African Kenté fabric, characterized by abstract patterns and intense dark or bright colors, with strong symbolic meaning.

The Kenté fabric, once reserved for important public occasions, uses specific graphic patterns and colors, chosen according to the circumstance in which it is worn.

To reproduce it, the process starts with Pelle Frau® SC, onto which the graphic pattern in black and the chosen color are digitally hot-stamped, in the variety of shades commonly used for Kenté fabric, which we find in the six leather tones: Black, Red, Yellow, Purple, Blue, and Green.
