Carla | Armchair

Doriana Mandrelli and Massimiliano Fuksas

Two surfaces intersect and rotate, their movement giving rise to the backrest, seat and armrests of the Carla seat. Simple geometries, like the slender contours of a flower, characterise this project by Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas.

The Carla seat has a wooden frame and padding in non-deforming fire-resistant polyurethane. The spring system consists of elastic belts. Automatic tip-up seat with joints in noise-damping nylon. Upholstery in Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System, fabric or velvet, produced entirely by hand using traditional upholstery methods. On request, the Carla chair can come with a wooden backrest and underseat panel and a foldaway writing table, as well as structural and colour customisations. Installed in rows using metal bases finished with scratchproof and shock-resistant epoxy powder paint.
