Adam D. Tihany

The Stanley seat was designed by Adam D. Tihany for a private cinema in an ultra-modern villa in Dubai. It is named after the designer’s favourite director, Stanley Kubrick, while the design is inspired by the interiors of the famous G-5 Gulfstream private jets. The Stanley combines timeless elegance with high functionality. A single button is used to control a sophisticated motorised mechanism so users can extend the footrest and recline the backrest for even greater levels of comfort.

Specifications

The Stanley armchair has a metal supporting structure and a seasoned beechwood backrest. The spring system is guaranteed by an elastic cloth with fire-resistant padding whose density provides perfect ergonomic support. Base in lacquered wood. Upholstery in Pelle Frau® leather in the collection colours. Other covers are also available on request.

Designed by
Adam D. Tihany

Adam D. Tihany, born in Romania and having grown up in Israel, is widely regarded as the world’s preeminent hospitality designer. His sophisticated, often groundbreaking, designs are the result, in part, of his unique global perspective. Upon graduating from Italy’s Politecnico di Milano, School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tihany apprenticed with several design firms in Europe before moving to New York City.  Shortly thereafter, in 1976, Tihany established his own multidisciplinary studio, called Tihany Design, encompassing all aspects of design, from commercial and residential interiors to furniture, products, exhibitions, and graphics.
