To mark the 40th anniversary of the In Motion Business Unit, the Poltrona Frau Museum in Tolentino has inaugurated Dinamismo come Visione. Poltrona Frau In Motion incontra Ivo Pannaggi (Dynamism as Vision: Poltrona Frau In Motion Meets Ivo Pannaggi), an exhibition that brings design and artistic research into dialogue, connecting the company’s history with the innovative vision of one of the leading figures of Italian Futurism.

The opening was accompanied by a talk dedicated to Ivo Pannaggi, featuring Giovanni Maiolo, General Manager of Poltrona Frau In Motion; Paola Ballesi, art historian and critic and Director of Poliarte in Ancona; Giuliana Pascucci, E.Q. at the Civic Museums of Palazzo Buonaccorsi and Head of the Museums Service for the Municipality of Macerata; and Roberto Cresti, art historian and critic and Artistic Director of Museo Palazzo Ricci.

Alongside the Vanity Fair XC In Motion, the exhibition features seating models, graphic works, historical photographs, documents, and artworks exploring the relationship between Pannaggi, Futurism, design, and the culture of movement. The exhibition also includes Dinamismo assoluto della mano sinistra, owned by Pannaggi’s heirs, and Vecchio Treno, on loan from the Civic Museums of Palazzo Buonaccorsi. Together, these works highlight the cultural and manufacturing heritage of the Marche region as a source of inspiration for envisioning the future of mobility.

Alongside the exhibition, the Poltrona Frau Museum presents a new installation dedicated to the In Motion Business Unit, tracing its evolution through a selection of landmark projects, including the dashboard of the Ferrari Speciale and the seat of the Pagani Utopia Roadster.

A timeline retraces the key milestones in In Motion’s history, from its earliest work on Lancia automobiles to contemporary projects, illustrating the development of bespoke solutions for the automotive, aviation, marine, and rail transportation sectors.
