Milan wears Poltrona Frau for the Design Week 2023

18 APRIL 2023

Our milanese flagship store in Via Manzoni 30 gets a complete makeover for the 2023 Salone del Mobile week. Animating the extraordinary 18th-century finely frescoed rooms of Palazzo Gallarati Scotti, which houses the store, are the new products of the 2023 Pleasures Collection. Furniture, lighting and accessories give a new look to the multitude of halls, galleries and courtyards that make up the showroom's more than 800 square meters. The design of the new products, strongly characterized by soft, curved lines, inspire the scenography of the space: backdrops and paneling envelop the products and create balanced plays of solids and voids, emphasized by textural contrasts between glossy and matte surfaces and the sophisticated nuances of the fabrics, leathers and ceramics that complete the layout.

Several areas of the showroom have been revisited in the layout concept to offer an even more complete and fulfilling experience: in particular, project areas dedicated to complements and outdoors are expanded. A bar has also been set up on the outdoor patio to host clients and designers throughout the course of the week. Lastly, an exhibition area is entirely dedicated to the project developed with the award-winning London studio Foster+Partners, which reveals an innovative seating system intended for public spaces.

But it is not only the showroom that showcases this year's numerous new products: many Poltrona Frau icons, which have become symbols of Made in Italy excellence over the years, have been selected to enrich spaces and installations around the city. Among them, the Pineider Store in via Manzoni 12 and the Milan Triennale Museum are hosting the iconic Archibald Anniversary Limited Edition armchair and the 1919 armchair; the Istituto Marangoni in via Cerva 24 is exhibiting "Living Modules for Mars", a special project developed by interior design students together with Poltrona Frau; at the Vhernier Store in via Montenapoleone 21 it is possible to admire the Archibald Dining Chair alongside the Dezza armchair with the new Redevance upholstery, the Leplì poufs and the Leather Boxes accessories; at Spazio Maiocchi, in via Maiocchi 7, visitors can sit on the Ouverture sofas while at Bar Campari in City Life they can enjoy a drink comfortably seated on the Solaria and Secret Garden outdoor systems. And last but not least, the historic Sanluca armchair by F.lli Castiglioni can be seen at the Castiglioni Foundation, while the Turner bookcase and Kyoto coffee table, both historic designs by Gianfranco Frattini, decorate Palazzo Arese Borromeo.
