Archibald Denim Edition | Armchair

Jean-Marie Massaud

Starting from
€ 5.201

The charm of denim inspires a new upholstery for Archibald, Poltrona Frau's iconic armchair, designed by Jean-Marie Massaud. Archibald Denim Edition is born, a stylish urban combination that gives a free look and a cool touch, perfect for high-end contemporary furnishings.

The soft and sophisticated lines of Archibald wear a new cover: a organic cotton jacquard fabric with the typical twill structure of denim, made with a special wash that makes it even more resistant and suitable for covering upholstered furniture. Named Everdenim, the fabric has a slubbed warp that characterizes it, giving it a deep, three-dimensional look and feel, with a lived-in quality inspired by the "stone washed" effect of jeans and an intense, elegant Navy Blue color. The cotton, of natural origin, is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified and is dry-cleanable.

The jeans effect is completed with double topstitching in yellow and a base in the new "antique bronze" finish, also inspired by the rivets and various metallic details found in denim. The blue denim armchair is embellished with a Saddle Leather label in Camel color, with the logo hot stamped and the inscription "Archibald Denim Edition. Unique, like you." sewn on the back.

To highlight its uniqueness, Archibald Denim Edition will be available exclusively online through the website www.poltronafrau.com, with availability in selected countries (Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland).

Concept and Design

Since its creation 150 years ago, denim fabric has become an undisputed protagonist of fashion, and even today, blue jeans remain one of the most universal symbols of the American myth. While always remaining relevant over the years, denim has recently become trendy, featured in all the latest prêt-à-porter and high-fashion collections, and even accessories. Poltrona Frau has captured and reinterpreted this trend in high-end furnishings, applying the play of slubbed texture and contrasting stitching to one of its most beloved, elegant, and evergreen products: the Archibald armchair.
