The Viola Essence armchair is extremely lightweight and easy to handle while remaining very solid and well constructed. The frame is made of solid ash wood and accommodates soft padding for both the seat and backrest. The seat suspension is achieved with elastic belts. The seat cushion is filled with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding, while the backrest cushion is filled with feathers with a polyurethane foam insert. A curved metal sheet inside the backrest cushion keeps it in place within the structure and provides additional lumbar support. The removable upholstery of the Viola Essence armchair is available in Pelle Frau^® leather or fabric. The harmonious and ergonomic proportions of this elegant seat ensure maximum comfort even during prolonged sitting.

Concept and Design

The name “Viola Essence” pays tribute to the purity of this new version of the Viola armchair, elegant and reduced to its essentials in the clean design of its two components: the smooth, beveled wooden structure and the soft yet rigorous design of the cushions. Inspired by the extra-comfortable seating originally created for the three-Michelin-star restaurant at the Four Seasons in Hong Kong, the Viola armchair, designed by AB Concept for Poltrona Frau, features an elegant line that sacrifices nothing in terms of comfort. AB Concept has revisited a classic form, giving it a distinctly contemporary touch. The result is particularly well suited to enhance the dining chair both when used on its own and when paired with a table.
