The Albero GFF 100 bookcase in its special edition was created to celebrate the centenary of Gianfranco Frattini’s birth. Its complex structure, combining two precious wood species—Santos rosewood and American Brown walnut—requires remarkable craftsmanship and cabinetmaking expertise. The central column is made of solid American Brown walnut, a particularly dark wood that reinforces the piece’s architectural presence. Composed of two toothed uprights with a special rack joint and four posts perforated at regular intervals, the Albero GFF 100 bookcase features a floor-to-ceiling fixing system with metal tips and collars. It includes twelve adjustable shelves in Santos rosewood, one of the rarest and most valuable woods in the world, characterized by elegant reddish-brown grain with black streaks, sometimes with pinkish or purplish hues. The grain creates ever-changing patterns that make each piece unique. The bookcase rotates 360° and features a laser engraving on the lower toothed upright with the designer’s signature and the Poltrona Frau logo. The special edition is marked by a “GFF100” plaque.
