Grant ø46 ottoman by Poltrona Frau, artisanal Pelle Frau® Motif Knits weave and Velvety leather seat, birch plywood frame

The structure of the Grant pouf is made of birch plywood, and the perimeter padding of the seat and sides is in expanded polyurethane. The pouf is distinguished by a special woven workmanship, created with Pelle Frau® bands, which decorates the perimeter frame. The leather upholstery is available in Pelle Frau® SC ColorSphere® and Pelle Frau® Soulful, or in the option that combines two types of leather: the first, Pelle Frau® Motif Knits, applied to the vertical surface, and the second, Pelle Frau® Velvety, applied to the pouf seat.

Concept and Design

Tristan Auer designs a collection of poufs for Poltrona Frau which stand out for their nomadic, versatile and flexible elegance: the Grant seats are equally at home in public and residential settings, on their own or in bespoke combinations. The inspiration for the Grant collection comes from different sources: the style of Hollywood legend Cary and the military aplomb of general Ulysses. There are also nods to equestrianism and the luxury cars of the pre-war period. Grant encapsulates the pure masculine essence of a clean, understated and completely unostentatious elegance. The Grant De Luxe seats are distinctive for the particular lattice work, consisting of strips of Pelle Frau® leather at a 45° angle, which decorates the external edges of the poufs, while a trim in the same material, always matching the cover of the base, frames the seat.

An interior and emotion architect, Tristan Auer designs beautifully sensual and singular interiors.

His extremely rich and aesthetic vision finds its finest expression in vibrant colour, lights and era mixes. From the Hôtel de Crillon and the Bains-Douches in Paris, to the prestigious works in private houses in London and New York, all the way to Moustique Island, he operates with the style of a stage director, his client being both the main actor in his screenplay and his accomplice in this on-going quest for elegance. As an ambassador of a certain French “art de vivre”, Tristan Auer combines his very modern vision with arts and crafts excellence to give a new definition of contemporary luxury.
