Set against the spectacular backdrop of the AlUla desert, the Maraya Concert Hall stands out as a symbol of Saudi Arabia’s cultural vision and its Vision 2030. Recognized by the Guinness World Records as the largest mirrored building in the world, Maraya reflects the surrounding natural landscape and has become one of the country’s architectural icons.

The architectural and engineering project was led by Giò Forma and Black Engineering. The interior of the auditorium features a refined and understated aesthetic, enhanced by 550 custom-designed Pitagora seats crafted by Poltrona Frau. The seats are upholstered in Impact Less leather, a sustainable choice, in the Carrubo tone from the ColorSphere® palette—perfectly in harmony with the warm desert tones.

The Pitagora model, originally designed in 1982 by Lella and Massimo Vignelli, is renowned for its essential geometry, ergonomic comfort, and excellent acoustic performance, making it ideal for high-performance cultural venues.

Poltrona Frau’s contribution enhances both the visual and functional experience of the space, delivering exceptional aesthetic quality with a sustainable approach. Maraya hosts international events, concerts, and exhibitions, reinforcing AlUla’s role as a prominent global cultural hub.

Through this collaboration, Poltrona Frau and Giò Forma express a shared vision of context-driven and conscious design: projects that celebrate heritage, interpret the present, and inspire new perspectives for the future.
