The first edition of the “Adotta una scuola” project kicks off

20 April 2022

As a longtime Fondazione Altagamma partner, Poltrona Frau is among the various companies adhering to the “Adotta una scuola” (Adopt a school) project and will collaborate with the “Renzo Frau” Professional Institute of Industry and Craftsmanship in Sarnano, Macerata.

The students from the furniture and fashion courses will work with our artisans from Friday, April 22, to develop a collection of small objects following the brief: “sustainability to design the future”. The purpose of the initiative is to train new generations of artisans in upcycling waste materials and reworking them into objects and furniture. At the end of the project, the students will also be able to showcase their works in the Poltrona Frau Museum.

The “Adotta una scuola” project, now in its first edition, includes 16 other companies from 5 different industries and 17 professional and technical schools recognized by the Ministry of Education, all hailing from different Italian regions: Campania, Marche, Abruzzo, Veneto, Piedmont, Tuscany, Lombardy, and Emilia-Romagna.

This iniziative marks the beginning of a vibrant collaboration between brands and schools, aiming to engage younger generations in manufacturing jobs that require a new approach to ensure the continued success of Made in Italy excellence.

Fondazione Altagamma also looks to address the increasing hardships in recruiting these new “Talents of Craftsmanship”, i.e. workers that incarnate the values and expertise required and typical of Made in Italy quality, which many cultural and creative companies in Italy have noted for some time now.
