The design of the Martha armchair arises from the meeting of the two principal elements of the shell, both made of rigid polyurethane obtained by molding. The seat and armrests form part of a single, sinuous, open line, with both ends inclined outward. The curved and slightly padded backrest appears to float in the air; in reality it is attached to the shell by a concealed system. A triangular‑section wood trestle supports the whole. A slight tilt of the seat toward the back promotes optimal comfort and accentuates the dynamic design of the armchair. The four‑leg base is made of solid ash wood. The play of colors and material contrasts helps emphasize Martha’s fluid and light line. The outer shell is covered by a rich Saddle Extra leather casing, while the interior may be upholstered in Pelle Frau® or fabric, by choice. Distinguished visible stitching, done by hand with contrasting thread, underlines the combination of the two materials. Completing it all is a soft removable seat cushion in Pelle Frau® or fabric. Martha is made with FSC® 100% certified wood.

Roberto Lazzeroni was born in Pisa. He studied art and architecture in Florence, taking an increasing personal interest in the phenomena of conceptual art and radical design during his years of training.He débuted professionally in the early 1980s with a series of important 'Interior Architecture' works that were immediately noticed and published by both Italian and international magazines. Roberto Lazzeroni has enjoyed an extremely dynamic professional journey that today sees him involved in various projects, and able to boast prestigious collaborations, art direction and interior and contract design in various parts of the world.

Awards include: Tecniques Discretes (Paris, 1991), Conran Foundation Museum, (London, 1992), Elegant Techniques, (Chicago, 1992), La Fabbrica Estetica, (Paris, 1993), Dall'Albergo alla Nave, (Genoa, 1993), Costruire il mobile, (Milan 1999).
