Oliver | Armchair

Poltrona Frau Style & Design Centre

Poltrona Frau R. & D. draws inspiration from the iconic Tabarin when designing the Oliver armchair which, with its welcoming design and the streamlined contours of the backrest and armrest, has an American feel and reflects a passion for the transatlantic atmospheres of the 1930s. The Oliver chair is fitted with an electric mechanism that allows you to recline the backrest and lift the footrest using the control pad on the inside of the armrest. The backrest can be reclined to a maximum of 140° while the footrest can be raised to a maximum of 90°.

Specifications

The supporting structure of the Oliver seat is in seasoned beechwood and the spring system is formed of woven elastic belts, while the padding is in fire-resistant polyurethane foam, in line with the most recent technology. The wooden base can be veneered or painted. Oliver doesn’t need to be anchored to the floor. The honeycomb sides are made from poplar plywood as is the structure of the footrest. The felled stitching with contrasting tone-on-tone thread can also be enriched with a leather trim on request.

Poltrona Frau Style & Design Centre

Poltrona Frau, Second half of the 60. In the second half of the 1960s, Poltrona Frau created an internal structure to manage research and development. Whilst preserving the know-how of expert craftsmanship, the Centre for Research and Development experiments with new material, new building techniques and creates new forms. The highly specialised design technicians that make up the group benefit from a superbly equipped prototype laboratory, where they can give form to new ideas. Products and raw material are tested in the Analysis and Experimentation Laboratory, a very efficient structure for the fine-tuning of high-quality products conforming international norms.
