Mission

The Poltrona Frau Museum is a private institution open to the public,whose main pyrpose is to guard,perserve,communicate and enhance the testimonies of the company. It is a place of enrichment and cultural entertainment,in which it is possible to experience the product, theraw materials and the company communication. Also ensuring the access to its colelction, the Museum contributes to the creation of a collective historical memory of italian design and craftmanship, as well as to increase the perception of corporate culture.

Vision

With the definition of Vision, the Poltrona Frau Museum proposes itself to outline the idea of a museum to which it tends, through the realization of activities coherent with the company values. The museum hopes to become a point of reference for the study, the research in the field of high-end furniture design and to have an active role in the dissemination of socio-cultural evolution and of progresses in the company’s business the industrial history and of the surrondings.

Museum activities

CREATIVE FAMILIES

It is a creative workshop for families. It aims to raise awareness about craftsmanship and the value of raw materials. Parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren, will be able to visit the Poltrona Frau Museum together and at the end of the journey work creatively together for the creation of an object that they can take home as a souvenir of the day spent together.

LOGBOOK. YOUNG REPORTERS AT THE POLTRONA FRAU MUSEUM

Museum Education Workshops 10-13 years. The workshop aims to train and stimulate the critical sense of young visitors, who will be able to subjectively select the most interesting and emotional parts of the visit by creating their own storytelling in a logbook that will remain as a memory of the day.

THAT'S HOW I'LL TELL YOU THE MUSEUM!

Museum Education Workshops 14-18 years. The laboratory aims to deepen the excursus on advertising of the 1900s and to convey the value of good corporate communication. After a focus on the graphics exhibited in the collection starting from the tower of the years 10-20 up to the last of the 2000s, the students will be divided into groups of 4/5 members. Each group will have to design an advertising campaign that they will be able to share in their official social media channels. The best idea will be rewarded for being used in the company's communication channels.

LEATHER IN COLOURS

Museum Education Workshops 6-10 years. The 'Leather in colours' workshop is dedicated to primary schools and aims to involve children in a creative process to understand the activities necessary for the development of a project. Through the realization of their idea they can establish a first connection with the unknown world of design. The designed activity is based on an emotional, expressive and tactile approach.

Poltrona Frau Museum opens its doors for the Design Week.end

On the occasion of the Design Week.end in Tolentino, Poltrona Frau opened the doors of its Museum to guests, offering them an exclusive visit. Conceived as an experimental first edition, the event aimed to lay the foundations for a future, larger-scale version featuring exhibitions, installations, and conferences dedicated to design and creativity.

17th National Lancia Thema Gathering – Marche Region

The Poltrona Frau Museum served as the starting point for the Lancia Thema gathering. Participants had the opportunity to admire the Lancia Thema 8.32 Ferrari seats, developed by Poltrona Frau in 1986, and to appreciate the ingenuity and craftsmanship that the brand has infused into its iconic designs.

Poltrona Frau reopens its doors to students from the Florence Institute of Design

Poltrona Frau and the Florence Institute meet again for a visit to the Poltrona Frau Museum and a reflection on design. The museum welcomed international students, promoting knowledge of the brand and of Italian design.

Design in Motion at the Poltrona Frau Museum

During the Grand Tour of Museums, the Liceo Coreutico di Tolentino reinterpreted the brand's iconic forms through the performance Design In Movimento. The project is part of the Scuola d'Impresa initiative organized by Museimpresa and LIUC University.

FAI Spring Days

The Poltrona Frau Museum opened its doors to visitors for a journey through Italian design and craftsmanship, in collaboration with the FAI Delegation of Macerata. Students from the Liceo Filelfo of Tolentino acted as guides, leading the public to discover the history and values of Poltrona Frau.

Italian Innovation Program

In 2024, the international Italian Innovation program made a stop at the Poltrona Frau Museum. Students from around the world explored the future of Italian brands through identity, innovation, and corporate culture. Professor Peter Boatwright delivered the lecture “Branding for the Future”, emphasizing the importance of sustainability.

Between the lines of design and luxury

During the Grand Tour of Museums week, the books “I luoghi del design” (Places of Design) by Antonella Galli and Pierluigi Masini, ‘Slow’ by Spalvieri & Del Ciotto, and “Il teatro del lusso” (The Theater of Luxury) by Samuele Briatore were presented, accompanied by readings by the Compagnia della Rancia theater company. A reflection on the relationship between design and luxury.

The spaces of the Poltrona Frau Museum were the meeting place for the Paesaggio d'Eccellenza association and Visit Industry Marche, which welcomed the region's tourist guides to promote industrial tourism.

“Paesaggio dell’Eccellenza” Assembly

During the annual meeting hosted at the Poltrona Frau Museum, the activities planned for 2024 by the Associazione Paesaggio d’Eccellenza (Association for Landscape Excellence) were presented. Poltrona Frau will become a member of this association in February 2024, renewing its commitment to corporate cultural and social responsibility and the promotion of industrial tourism.

A Night at the Museum… in Musical!

The Poltrona Frau Museum transformed into a unique stage for an evening that combined design and music in a new, experimental space. The Compagnia della Rancia, the renowned theatre company from Tolentino, performed the most iconic songs from a century of musicals in a show created exclusively for the museum.

On June 6, 2018, the Poltrona Frau Museum took part in the “Museo Amico” project promoted by the Municipality of Tolentino, presenting the educational workshop “Leather in Color”. The activity, designed for students of the IPSIA “Renzo Frau,” involved 40 boys and girls in an immersive, multisensory journey to discover design through touch, creativity, and craftsmanship.

On the occasion of the International Museum Day, the Poltrona Frau Museum presented “La Parola in Poltrona”, curated by Cesare Catà. The philosopher and performer guided three groups of 20 participants through a five-stage journey, narrating the cultural and historical evolution of the brand and the artistic and artisanal significance of its models — through literature, historical events, and social phenomena.
