Poltrona Frau’s values go beyond design and aesthetics. The company has always concerned itself with sustainability, i.e. of combining the quality of its furniture and complementary accessories with the health of those that produce them and their possible impact on the environment.
A commitment that takes various forms, beginning with its choice of suppliers, strictly amongst the most sensitive to the issue of sustainability. Lots of importance is also attributed to workplace safety and to developing and maintaining a serene atmosphere based on consideration and respect for others, at all levels. Staff training and development are equally important priorities for Poltrona Frau. In fact, only in this way is it possible to maintain long-term working relationships with employees. And to transmit this experience, this expert handcraftsmanship which makes it possible to develop refined and complex projects, hallmark of the brand, to the next generation. People, but also the environment: a company deeply-rooted in its local community, like Poltrona Frau is, must promote it, supporting local cultural or social initiatives. Logistics, the use of energy resources and waste disposal are constantly monitored with the focus on optimisation and sustainable growth. Over the years Poltrona Frau has also been awarded the most important quality, ethics and environmental certification, consolidating its reputation as a committed and responsible company.

Poltrona Frau and the environment

With a capacity of 1.4 megawatts thanks to the 18,000 thin film photovoltaic modules, the plant produces around 1.68 million kWh a year, a saving of 1176 tonnes of CO2, and makes the Poltrona Frau plant independent in terms of its electricity supply, with excess quotas sold to the national grid. A "Zero Waste" project was also launched at the Tolentino headquarters which has made it possible to maximise the separate waste collection process across the entire site.

UNI EN ISO 14021:2021

Our company has recently achieved compliance with UNI EN ISO 14021:2021 for packaging, i.e., Environmental labels and declarations – Self-declared environmental claims (Type II environmental labeling). We are working to gradually update all our packaging in accordance with the criteria established by the Certification. However, due to production timelines, material availability, and logistical factors, some products may still be packaged using previous materials. We would like to reassure our customers and partners that this is an ongoing process, and we are committed to completing it as quickly as possible.

UNI EN ISO 9001

UNI EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification, applied to the Residential, Custom Interiors and Poltrona Frau In Motion segments, guarantees high standards of organisation and performance, ensuring the planning and monitoring of processes, methods, requisites and quality standards. It is indicative of Poltrona Frau’s commitment to pursuing the excellence of its products and satisfying the present and future needs of its customers.

IATF 16949

IAFT 16949 Automotive Quality Management certification, applied to the Poltrona Frau In Motion segment, guarantees a continuous improvement process with particular focus on the prevention of defects, waste reduction and the supply chain. Recognised by OEM and the leading car manufacturers, this certification embodies Poltrona Frau’s commitment to being fully competitive in the international automotive market.

UNI EN ISO 14001

UNI EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification, applied to the Residential, Custom Interiors and Poltrona Frau In Motion segments, guarantees control of the environmental impacts of the activities performed and the systematic adoption of improvement plans in the environmental sphere. It embodies Poltrona Frau’s commitment to the environment, the territory and social responsibility.

ISO 45001

UNI ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System certification, applied to the Residential, Custom Interiors and Poltrona Frau In Motion segments, guarantees prevention, the minimisation of risks and the systematic adoption of improvement plans concerning the health and wellbeing of workers. It embodies Poltrona Frau’s commitment to its human resources and to social responsibility.

FSC

FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL® FSC-STD-40-004 Chain of Custody certification, applied to the Residential and Custom Interiors segments, guarantees Poltrona Frau’s commitment to respecting forest resources and enables the end consumer to enjoy products made with low-environmental impact raw materials from forests managed according to strict principles of environmental, social and economic responsibility.
