Re-stijl

The name refers to the De-Stijl artistic movement of the early twentieth century, emphasising the geometric character and precise decoration that arises from the simple interweaving of weft and warp. The micro-design takes shape from the plastic construction of the jacquard textile, which consists of three warp and three weft threads in different colours.

Re-stijl

The first upholstery fabric in the Poltrona Frau catalogue made with post-consumer fibres, Re-Stijl embodies the theme of sustainability. It is a textile made on a jacquard frame with 72% polyester and 28% recycled cotton, certified Global Recycle Standard. The polyester is only obtained from plastic bottles that are collected, shredded and melted down to create the new yarn. One linear metre of this home textile corresponds to the recycling of about 40 half-litre bottles. The geometric pattern varies considerably with the different chromatic variations: there are two with light neutral colours, Frozen Whites and Blonde Woods, and two with dark colours and high contrast, Pier 1 and Into the Black. The cotton chenille is a three-ply weft, which gives the yarn a delicate feel and a vibrant and slightly iridescent appearance.

Care and maintenance

For details on the composition, maintenance and cleaning of the fabric, see the
fabric sheet or the label on the product.
Warning! When using fabric cleaning and maintenance products, follow the
instructions given on the container. For the fabrics washable in water, washing
at specialized laundries is suggested. Never use alcohol or other solvents.
Avoid direct contact between the fabric and heat sources, leaving a gap of at
least 20-30 cm. All materials, including those of the highest quality, may be
subject to changes in colour, particularly if exposed to bright sunlight. It is
best not to expose the material to direct sunlight. Warning! When used to the
same extent, fabrics that cover soft surfaces are subject to greater wear than
those covering rigid surfaces. Warning! Due to its nature and the treatment
undergone, not all stains can be removed completely from the fabric.
