Like the new Hotel Interno Marche in Tolentino, which in its name alone encapsulates the genius loci of a territory and tells the story of 60 years of interior design history. The hotel has been created from a late Art Nouveau building, formerly a factory of the Nazareno Gabrielli company, later the headquarters of Poltrona Frau, and the residence of entrepreneur and patron Franco Moschini. Moschini, who led the company for years, played a crucial role in promoting and spreading Made in Italy design worldwide through Poltrona Frau and brands like Cassina, Cappellini, Zanotta, and Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, where he remains President.

From these roots emerges a hospitality project aimed at design enthusiasts, travelers seeking less-trodden tourist paths, and professionals visiting an area rich in enterprises. Spanning 3,600 square meters dedicated to the history of Italian and international design, the hotel features 25 unique rooms, each inspired by the style and work of legendary designers. Additionally, there are 5 suites named after the stylistic movements that have characterized the past century. The hotel also includes a bistro restaurant, a lounge bar, a spa, a gym, and a multifunctional space, all housed within a two-story building set in a garden of pines and cypresses.

The extensive and meticulous transformation of Villa Gabrielli, lasting three years and involving the restoration of frescoes, reconfiguration of spacious early 20th-century areas, and recovery of tanning vats, has created a refined house-museum where each environment dialogues with works by great designers. Over 400 pieces of furniture and objects, both authored and custom-made, punctuate the spaces of the structure, playing a game of references and tributes to the great figures of design: from Michele De Lucchi to Marc Newson, from Giò Ponti to Lella and Massimo Vignelli, from Gae Aulenti to Vico Magistretti. Poltrona Frau is a fundamental part of this narrative, with numerous furnishings from its catalog present in the individual rooms and common areas, each equipped with a QR code that identifies the designer and details.

The maxim that adorns the turret of Villa Gabrielli, "Ex nihilo nihil" ("Nothing comes from nothing - De rerum natura, Lucretius), aptly summarizes the spirit of the project: not a construction or renovation, but the evolution of a building reborn in a new guise, maintaining the spirit of "beautiful, good, and well-made" that characterizes its history.

Not just a design hotel: Interno Marche aims to become a territorial hub, an invitation to discover the Alto Maceratese, an area rich in history, art, enchanting landscapes, and delightful culinary traditions. The town of Tolentino, in particular, has always been a small but significant cultural center, capable of attracting personalities such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Pope Sixtus V, and Francesco Sforza over the centuries, culminating in the epicenter of the treaty between France and the Papal States in 1797. Still home to the Poltrona Frau company, which hosts a museum inaugurated over ten years ago, Tolentino also boasts the Miumor (Museum of Humor in Art), the important 14th-century basilica of San Nicola, the precious cathedral of San Catervo, the Rancia Castle, and the Devil's Bridge. It is also a starting point for exploring a territory nestled between the mysterious Sibillini Mountains, the Conero Riviera, and perched villages such as Urbisaglia, Elcito, or San Ginesio, as well as the sanctuaries of Macereto and the Madonna of Loreto.
