National Archive of France

Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, near Paris, is the location of the imposing new National Archives of France designed by architects Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas. Extending for an area of 80,000 m2 and featuring 320 km of shelves, it is an important building that will house all historical documents from the French Revolution onwards. The conference room is located in one of the six satellite annexes which, integrated with the main building, combine to form a luminous, light and transparent piece of architecture made from glass and lacquered aluminium. Poltrona Frau Contract developed the prototype of the Carla seat, designed and created for the 300-capacity conference room in the grandiose new archive centre.
