A state-of-the-art Congress Hall in Riccione, a seaside city on the Adriatic Sea. The city needed a multifunctional location that could lend itself to different types of events. The result was the amazing building designed by Studio Anselmi – Gandolfi – Passarelli, a futuristic project where Poltrona Frau Custom Interiors entirely manufactured the interiors.

1,400 armchairs with an innovative swivelling retracting action, furnish the main congress hall, the Concordia Hall. The special Poltrona Frau “Hide System” patent was applied here for the first time. This system enables the chairs to “retract” into the floor of the hall. By activating a sophisticated electronic mechanism, the hall can be radically modified in its functions in a very short time: from an auditorium furnished for congress use, to an entirely empty space for trade fairs or other applications, with a total of 1,800 square metres floor space.

Poltrona Frau also made approximately 1,000 “Movie”-model armchairs, for the five multi-purpose halls. All the partition units, the cladding of the perimeter walls with wood and metal panelling, and the wire net suspended ceilings, were included in Poltrona Frau’s “turnkey” contract project. Likewise, the foyer facilities on the ground floor, which comprise the welcome area, reception, cloakroom, information desk and leisure areas, are furnished with custom-made units manufactured specially by Poltrona Frau.
