Moonbeam | Floor lamp

Six N. Five

The Moonbeam floor lamp reinterprets the concept of an eclipse in a truly original way: on an oval brass base rises a stem made of the same material, topped by a disc that can also be in brass or upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather. The disc partially overlaps a second, larger luminous circle made of blown glass. The result is a crescent of light suspended like a lunar sliver, with strong emotional impact, gently illuminating the space and creating a poetic, relaxing atmosphere. The lamp allows for intensity adjustment, shifting from warm to cooler light in a refined evocation of the phases of the moon. The glass is hand-blown by Venetian master glassmakers. Any small imperfections—such as slight bubbles, irregularities to the touch or sight, or minimal inclusions due to the blowing process—should not be considered defects, but distinctive elements that attest to the value of craftsmanship and the uniqueness of each individual piece. The Moonbeam floor lamp, with its strong emotional impact, softly illuminates the room with a gentle, enveloping light.

Concept and Design

A poetic sliver of moon that illuminates the room with a soft, diffused light. A luminous sculpture that recreates the phases of the moon by changing intensity and creating an intimate and captivating atmosphere: this is Moonbeam, designed by Six N.Five for Poltrona Frau. A truly unique design lamp. Six N. Five is the name of the studio of Argentine digital artist and designer Ezequiel Pini. A pioneer in the artistic use of 3D, Pini’s imagery is closely connected to the exploration of nature and light. His animations and works have been exhibited in many museums and exhibitions such as Art Basel, Moco Museum, Fotografiska Stockholm, and Museo della Permanente. Thanks to his collaboration with Poltrona Frau, the artist has ventured into the world of lighting for the first time.

The Moonbeam floor lamp is a floor lamp designed for those who want lighting to serve not only a practical purpose, but also to play a decisive role in shaping the atmosphere of a room. In a thoughtfully designed interior, lighting is not simply about seeing better: it helps define the character of the space, making it feel more welcoming, more balanced, and more memorable. A floor lamp of this level is especially suited to those seeking ambient lighting, visual elegance, and an accent piece capable of interacting with the furnishings without feeling secondary.

In a living room, it can become the ideal source of light to accompany a conversation area or complete a relaxation corner beside a substantial sofa or a designer armchair. In this context, its function goes far beyond general illumination: it introduces a softer, more intimate quality of light, perfectly suited to evening moments. It is a highly convincing choice for those who want a living space that conveys warmth, sophistication, and a more elevated sense of domestic well-being.

A floor lamp like Moonbeam is also exceptionally well suited to creating a reading corner. Positioned near an armchair, chaise longue, or lounge seat, it helps define a small personal area dedicated to pause, reading, or quiet conversation. In these situations, it does more than illuminate: it suggests a lifestyle that is slower and more attentive to the quality of the environment. It is especially appropriate for those seeking a home that feels welcoming, relaxing, and capable of offering moments of retreat within a carefully curated setting.

In contemporary homes, especially in open-plan layouts or spacious living rooms, a Moonbeam floor lamp also plays an important compositional role. It can help introduce height into the room, balance lower volumes such as sofas and coffee tables, or enhance a corner that might otherwise feel visually incomplete. For this reason, it is particularly suitable for those who seek a balance between function and decoration, and who want to use light as a tool to create depth and rhythm within the interior.

Moonbeam can also find a place in the bedroom, especially in residential suites or spacious rooms where the goal is to avoid lighting that feels overly technical or uniform. In an elegant bedroom, a floor lamp helps create a more enveloping light, ideal for evening relaxation or for accompanying a dedicated reading area. In this context, it is especially suited to those who want a sleeping area with a relaxing atmosphere, visual comfort, and a more sophisticated tone than standard lighting solutions can provide.

From a stylistic perspective, a lamp like this integrates beautifully into interiors featuring neutral palettes, warm tones, tactile materials, soft fabrics, natural woods, marble, and understated metals. It can interact naturally with contemporary interiors, soft minimal spaces, modern classic environments, and understated luxury settings, becoming a key element in making the space feel more coherent and layered. It is a fitting choice for those who pay attention not only to furniture design, but also to the way lighting enhances shapes, surfaces, and atmosphere.

Its applications are not limited to residential interiors. In private lounges, suites, boutique hotels, premium waiting areas, or executive offices, a designer floor lamp immediately communicates elegant hospitality, attention to detail, and care for the experience of those using the space. In these environments, a decorative lighting element helps make the setting feel less impersonal and more distinctive, contributing to a perception of elevated quality from the very first glance.

For those making highly personalized requests, Moonbeam can be a credible solution in many different scenarios: a floor lamp for a living room with warm tones and a substantial sofa, an elegant light source for a reading area near a window, a solution to make a large bedroom feel more welcoming, or a luminous accent piece for a refined lounge. In all these situations, concrete needs emerge, such as soft lighting, decorative presence, harmony with the furnishings, and the desire to create environments that are not only beautiful, but also genuinely pleasant to experience during the evening hours.

It is therefore a lamp suited to those who do not consider lighting a simple technical detail, but rather an essential part of the interior design project. In a thoughtfully designed space, a lamp like this can accomplish a great deal: define a corner, improve the perception of the room, accompany moments of relaxation, and make the overall atmosphere feel richer, more intimate, and more personal.
