Pelle Frau^® Soulful is the natural evolution of Pelle Frau^® Soul which will now be phased out. This new upholstery becomes more sustainable through the Impact Less tanning process, launched by Poltrona Frau in 2022. Among the key measures implemented, Impact Less includes the elimination of Cr3 in the tanning process, a 15% reduction in chemical substances and a 10% reduction in water consumption. The new Pelle Frau^® Soulful represents the latest and most advanced development of this research.

Pelle Frau^® Impact Less replaces the chromium component (Cr3) in the tanning process with less-impactful products, significantly reducing the use of chemical substances. Thanks to advanced technologies in wastewater recovery, water consumption is reduced by 10% along the entire supply chain, from tanning to finishing, and Pelle Frau^® Impact Less has obtained the LWG (Leather Working Group) Gold certification, positioning itself below the limits imposed by the most stringent standards. Furthermore, to make Pelle Frau^® Impact Less truly sustainable, the CO₂ emitted in the production cycle is offset by adhering to UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) certified projects. These projects comprise reforestation and initiatives in favour of the sustainable economy in developing countries.  The Poltrona Frau Leather R&D department also analyses the Pelle Frau^® Impact Less production process using the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) methodology, guaranteeing precise data on the environmental footprint of the product’s entire life cycle.
