The interior furnishing of government buildings is a particularly demanding challenge. It is necessary to create an elegant, functional, and comfortable environment in vast spaces that must accommodate a large number of seats. These seats must also be equipped with advanced features such as telephony, data connection, simultaneous translation, electronic voting systems, and more. Among the projects managed in this field by Poltrona Frau’s Contract Custom Interiors division, the European Parliament in Strasbourg stands out. A complex and ambitious endeavor, it involved the creation of 5,000 fully equipped seats and the furnishing of the semicircular chamber and complementary meeting rooms, all custom-made. A result of great significance, even symbolic, which transcends geographical and cultural differences to convey a universal language through design.
