The Montera stool has a shell in rigid polyurethane obtained by molding and padding in expanded polyurethane. The legs are available in various wood and steel finishes. In the version with wooden legs there are plastic glides and a metal strip protecting the footrest on the top. In the steel version, four conical tubular legs are connected by a footrest ring in the same finish as the base, equipped with a brushed stainless steel scratch‑protection plate. The stool upholstery can be entirely in Pelle Frau®, with tone‑on‑tone stitching, or in the combination that pairs leather on the outer shell and leather on the interior seating surface, with contrast stitching at the edge.

Concept and Design

The Montera series designed by Roberto Lazzeroni has a formal lightness that expresses the sensory charm of its materials: the raw cut processing exalts the tactility of the saddle-leather and leather which, combined together, complement each other perfectly; the light stitching on the backrest forms a smile. Montera is a chair, an armchair, a stool of two different heights, a column stool and a stackable chair.

Roberto Lazzeroni was born in Pisa. He studied art and architecture in Florence, taking an increasing personal interest in the phenomena of conceptual art and radical design during his years of training.He débuted professionally in the early 1980s with a series of important 'Interior Architecture' works that were immediately noticed and published by both Italian and international magazines. Roberto Lazzeroni has enjoyed an extremely dynamic professional journey that today sees him involved in various projects, and able to boast prestigious collaborations, art direction and interior and contract design in various parts of the world.

Awards include: Tecniques Discretes (Paris, 1991), Conran Foundation Museum, (London, 1992), Elegant Techniques, (Chicago, 1992), La Fabbrica Estetica, (Paris, 1993), Dall'Albergo alla Nave, (Genoa, 1993), Costruire il mobile, (Milan 1999).
