Poltrona Frau brings its new 2026 collection, True Over Time, to Shanghai, following its debut at Milan Design Week.

Hosted at the brand’s Shanghai flagship store, the launch marks the collection’s first presentation in mainland China and celebrates the intersection of tradition, innovation, and contemporary design.

The project explores the value of time and authenticity through the philosophy of Poltrona Frau, founded in 1912, where artisanal heritage serves as the foundation for continuous evolution. To convey this vision to Chinese audiences, the brand has chosen the expression 历久·弥新 (Timeless, Always New), highlighting its ability to preserve the value of tradition while continually evolving to meet the needs of the present.

Highlights of the collection include the Archibald Sofa System by Jean-Marie Massaud, the Blisscape Deep sofa by Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba, and the DomusCove Day system by Dante Bonuccelli. The collection also features two special editions: the Albero GFF 100 bookcase, honoring the centennial of Gianfranco Frattini’s birth, and the Archibald Delicate Balance armchair, reimagined by artist Shepard Fairey.

The presentation was accompanied by the forum The Growing Power of Time: How Classic Luxury Homes Speak to Contemporary China, which brought together ten designers for a discussion on the relationship between design classics, innovation, and new ways of living.

Extending from Shanghai to Hangzhou, the project further strengthens Poltrona Frau’s presence in the Chinese market and its engagement with local design culture.

True Over Time is not simply a revival of the classics, but a fresh interpretation of Italian luxury—one that continues to evolve in a constantly changing world while remaining firmly rooted in the values of tradition and the brand’s identity.
