The Massimosistema sofa is available in single chairs, two- or three-seater sofas with or without armrests, chaise-longues, chaise elements and poufs that can stand alone or easily be joined or combined with each other. The sofa structure is in seasoned beech and poplar with sides in birch plywood and MDF infill. The spring system consists of elastic belts. The seat cushions are in goose down and polyester staple with polyurethane foam insert. The armrests come in three variants - tall, medium and low - and can be mixed and matched for all closed, modular and asymmetrical configurations. The upholstery can be entirely in Pelle Frau® leather (also two-tone) or in the options that combine multiple materials.

Massimosistema is a sofa whose biggest strength is its simplicity. The elegant simplicity of its design, the work of Poltrona Frau Style & Design Centre, a perfect balance of clean, minimalist lines and comfortable seats. And the simplicity with which it can be employed thanks to the system of modular sofas packed with elements that can be organised to taste, according to one’s creativity or the amount of space available.

Poltrona Frau, Second half of the 60. In the second half of the 1960s, Poltrona Frau created an internal structure to manage research and development. Whilst preserving the know-how of expert craftsmanship, the Centre for Research and Development experiments with new material, new building techniques and creates new forms. The highly specialised design technicians that make up the group benefit from a superbly equipped prototype laboratory, where they can give form to new ideas. Products and raw material are tested in the Analysis and Experimentation Laboratory, a very efficient structure for the fine-tuning of high-quality products conforming international norms.
