Poltrona Frau officially launches the Digital Product Passport
Poltrona Frau announces the launch of the Digital Product Passport (DPP), an interactive digital tool designed to make information about the origin, quality and lifecycle of each product easily and immediately accessible. The project debuts on the iconic Vanity Fair and Archibald seating collections, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to transparency, authenticity and sustainability.
With the Digital Product Passport, Poltrona Frau inaugurates a new phase in its relationship with customers, providing immediate access to certified information and dedicated content related to the purchased product. Through an NFC tag included in the User Kit and uniquely associated with each product, customers can simply tap their smartphone to access a dedicated page that tells the story of the piece: from its composition and materials to the origin of raw materials and the various production stages. The DPP also enables customers to verify ownership of the product, download the Certificate of Ownership, explore exclusive content on the design and concept behind the collections, access dedicated care and maintenance videos, and benefit from a preferential channel for after-sales services. The result is a digital ecosystem designed to accompany customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their furniture.
For Poltrona Frau, the Digital Product Passport represents the natural evolution of a promise that has defined the brand for more than a century. Through this tool, every decision relating to materials, the supply chain and craftsmanship becomes visible, verifiable and shareable, providing a tangible guarantee of authenticity and quality.
The project has been developed in collaboration with Aura Blockchain Consortium and Temera, two leading partners in traceability and digital innovation for the luxury sector. Aura Blockchain Consortium’s blockchain technology ensures data security and verifiable product authenticity, while the platform developed by Temera integrates product information and enriches the customer’s digital experience, from collection storytelling and supply chain data to assistance and maintenance services.
The launch of the DPP also responds to developments introduced by the European ESPR Regulation (Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation), which entered into force in 2024 and is expected to extend to the Home Furniture sector by 2028. With this initiative, Poltrona Frau is among the first high-end furniture companies and the first company within the Haworth Lifestyle Group to adopt the Digital Product Passport, transforming a future regulatory requirement into a concrete opportunity to strengthen transparency, sustainability and customer engagement.
The initial phase of the project involves the iconic Vanity Fair and Archibald seating collections and represents the first step in a structured roadmap that will progressively extend the Digital Product Passport across the entire Poltrona Frau catalogue by 2030, confirming the brand’s intention not merely to follow change, but to lead it.
