Poltrona Frau puts its expertise at the service of the mobility of the future. At its Madison Avenue flagship store in New York, together with Hyundai Transys and Lineapelle, it presented the Circular Mobility System project: an avant-garde vision of mobility in which design, sustainability, and technology come together.

The project explores a new idea of mobility conceived as a circular ecosystem, in which materials and forms engage in a dialogue to create continuity between movement and everyday life. The “Ground to Sky” design concept narrates the journey in all its dimensions—ground mobility (Come & Go), air mobility (Up & Down), and intermediate spaces of permanence (Stay)—through coordinated materials, color palettes, and design solutions that ensure a harmonious and integrated experience, regardless of the mode of transportation. At the heart of the concept is the sensory and sustainable role of leather, enhanced by the Leather Circular Emotion theme promoted by Lineapelle. The event allowed visitors to experience these solutions through physical installations and immersive virtual reality experiences.

Hyundai Transys oversaw the design of seating systems and spaces dedicated to future mobility. Poltrona Frau, through its Custom Interiors Business Unit, furnished the project’s hubs with the Bay System designed by Foster + Partners Industrial Design, upholstered in Pelle Frau® ColorSphere Impact Less—a low environmental impact material that combines aesthetics, durability, and sustainability. For seating dedicated to Urban Air Mobility (UAM), Pelle Frau® iBreathe was selected: a lightweight, high-performance semi-aniline leather with a soft, natural feel. Lineapelle coordinated material sourcing and contributed to a circular and sustainable approach, strengthening the connection between the luxury supply chain, design, and mobility.

This participation represents the natural evolution of Poltrona Frau’s approach to design: bringing Italian craftsmanship, excellence in materials, and bespoke solutions into public spaces and mobility design contexts.
