Concept and Design

Designed by Roberto Lazzeroni in 2011 together with the Fred desk, the Ginger armchair has been a success since its debut and remains the most popular of all of the many chairs and armchairs in the Poltrona Frau catalogue. Its clean-cut and unfussy profile, sophisticated in its simplicity, evokes a welcoming and protective leather shell. The seat is extremely comfortable, the forms are both sinuous and highly graphical, guaranteeing harmonious continuity between the shell and the base. Designed as both the natural complement to the Fred desk and as a free-standing seat, the swivel version of Ginger is perfect for the study, while the fixed version is reliable favourite for the dining room.

The Ginger armchair by Poltrona Frau, designed by Roberto Lazzeroni, represents an iconic example of contemporary seating, capable of combining refined aesthetics with versatile functionality. Its design, characterized by a welcoming shell in leather or saddle leather and clean, graphic lines, allows this armchair to blend naturally into a wide variety of interior settings, becoming a versatile response to the needs of people who value both comfort and the image of their spaces.

The swivel version of the Ginger is perfect for those who want an elegant and comfortable seat for working from home, offering the right balance between ergonomics and style. Thanks to the quality of the materials and the wide range of available finishes, the armchair is also well suited to high-end professional environments such as law firms, notary offices, executive offices, or boardrooms, where representation and comfort are essential values.

Ginger also stands out as a designer dining chair in contemporary interiors: the fixed version, with its compact silhouette and the possibility of customizing colors and materials, makes it possible to furnish modern dining tables with taste, both in private residences and in boutique hotels or high-end restaurants. Its discreet yet authoritative presence also makes it ideal for refined reading corners in the living room, where the comfort of the seat and the quality of Poltrona Frau leathers invite moments of relaxation and contemplation.

Its applications extend to luxury contract and hospitality settings as well: Ginger finds its place in exclusive hotel bedrooms, in reception areas of creative studios, agencies, or fashion showrooms, where attention to detail and the search for distinctive elements are fundamental in creating a unique welcoming experience. Thanks to its compact size, it can also be an intelligent solution for small spaces, open-plan areas, or multifunctional environments, adding a touch of elegance without weighing down the visual perception of the space.

The possibility of color customization and the choice among different upholstery options make Ginger particularly appealing to architects and interior designers, who can pair it with contemporary design desks or integrate it into bespoke projects for clients with sophisticated taste. The artisanal quality of the materials, combined with the solidity of the structure and the comfort of the padding, ensures durability over time and everyday comfort that goes beyond mere decorative function.

In showrooms, art galleries, exhibition spaces, or luxury boutiques, the Ginger armchair can be used as seating to welcome clients, offering a level of comfort that highlights attention to detail and the value of the environment. Design-conscious individuals, lovers of Made in Italy, and professionals who wish to surround themselves with objects that speak of quality and design culture will find in Ginger a sophisticated and functional answer to their needs.

The Ginger armchair thus proves to be a multifaceted furnishing solution, capable of interpreting the desires of those seeking a statement seat, a chair for working or relaxing, or a distinctive element to enhance private or public spaces—always with a keen eye on comfort, material quality, and the possibility of chromatic and material customization.
