Poltrona Frau furnishes the most representative offices of Casa Italia in London
Poltrona Frau is proud to have contributed to the Casa Italia project, the new Italian institutional complex located on Buckingham Gate in the heart of London and inaugurated in October 2025.
Casa Italia stands as a new landmark for the Italian presence in the British capital: a prestigious venue, just steps from Buckingham Palace, conceived according to a paradigm that combines efficiency, sustainability and the enhancement of national cultural identity. The Victorian building, extending over approximately 2,000 square meters, hosts more than 80 officials from the Embassy of Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute and ITA – Italian Trade Agency. The spaces, renovated with great attention to the quality of Italian design, include areas dedicated to culture, hospitality and institutional representation.
The interiors, curated by designer Nick Vinson, are the result of a close collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Italy in London, the Italian Cultural Institute, ITA, major Italian design companies and numerous Italian and British museums. Casa Italia is conceived as a space open to the community: institutions, businesses, citizens, students, researchers and representatives from the worlds of art and culture.
Within the building, Poltrona Frau has furnished the most representative offices. In the Ambassador’s office, the CEO Cube executive system — including desk, storage units and meeting table designed by Lella and Massimo Vignelli — has been selected, together with the Oxford President armchair, the Lyra armchairs by Renzo Frau and the Kyoto table designed by Gianfranco Frattini.
These same elements also furnish the offices of the Minister, the Deputy Head of Mission, the Administration and the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, reaffirming Poltrona Frau’s commitment to bringing elegance, functionality and exceptional craftsmanship to the most prestigious institutional environments.
Finally, a selection of Italian and international artworks enriches the most representative spaces, supported by important museum collaborations with Villa Giulia, the Municipality of Ravenna and the Estorick Collection.
