The VI edition of the Italian Design Day was the perfect opportunity for the Consulate of Italy in Detroit to launch the four-year campaign for the promotion of Italian Design in Detroit, the only US UNESCO City of Design.
In September, as part of the Detroit Month of Design, renowned architects Palomba Serafini Associati curated a special installation involving the top brands in the Italian design scene, selecting several pieces from our collection such as the Archibald armchair, Solaria outdoor sofa, Let it Be sofa, Ginger Ale and Nivola chairs. Along with the physical exhibition, a highly engaging virtual exhibition was created in the LoveITDetroit Metaspace created by Wedoo.
The project also represents the attitude of contamination that characterizes Palomba Serafini Associati, as explained in the words of Ludovica+Roberto Palomba: “We could define our design approach as “holistic”. We create and develop every detail with focusing on an overall vision because at the end of our work, all the designed elements - like the voices of a choir – will tune in to generate a single identity. Our design philosophy combines human and architecture, space and sensations, concrete matter and subconscious”.
The installation curated by the renowed italian architects Ludovica+Roberto Palomba from Palomba Serafini Associati studio is visitable for the entire month of September 2022, from 10 am – 5 pm at the Bedrock owned and operated 1001 Woodward Ave. in Detroit.
